I was delighted to have been commissioned to produce an illustration for the Royal West of England Academy (RWA) in Bristol, an affiliate of the Royal Academy London.
My illustration was used for the RWA’s fundraising campaign to create the new Family Room in a disused basement. The new free-to-use facilities will provide a vibrant art space for families and school groups, and will enrich the lives of diverse, young and vulnerable visitors through art and creativity.
Commenting on my appointment, Kate Foster, Head of Development at the RWA, said:
“We were delighted with Mark’s illustration of the new Family Room, which helped us to achieve our crowdfunding target. The RWA can now transform the lower ground floor to become a free-to-use, vibrant art space that will attract families and school groups, and will enrich the lives of young and vulnerable visitors with art and creativity.
“Mark fully answered our brief for the illustration, which had to be welcoming and have energy; it also needed to show a diverse range of people enjoying being creative in the new space.
“It was a pleasure working with Mark and would have no hesitation recommending his services.”
